The Toronto Raptors are going to beat the New Jersey Nets. The reason I know this, is because this year’s version of the Raps has something that gives them that little bit extra.

That thing… is Karma.

Everyday from when Vince became Wince in 2002, until the day they fired Rob Babcock in January of 2006, the Raps had No Karma. In all of Raptors history, they have habitually lost the crunch time games. It is their legacy to this day that the Raptors do not make the clutch shots, or hit the winning basket when it counts most. But from the day they fired Babcock, things started to go the total opposite direction that every Raps fan remembers.

For once…the Raps started catching the breaks. They somehow convinced the best young mind in basketball, to leave arguably the best team in basketball, to take over the Raptors….That would have never happened before.

The Raps got the 1’st pick in the draft……That never happened before either.

They made several big trades, completely overhauled their roster, and still managed to overcome expectations…..Well that definitely never happened before.

Last year, Vince beat them on a dirty buzzer beater that Raps fans will never forget…This year, that will not happen.

The reason I believe this, is because it couldn’t have been written any better.

It is fate, karma, and the Basketball Gods that will ensure a Raps victory.

The Raps have been beaten up, torched in the media for years for questionable moves, and it is now just their time. It is their time to get revenge on Vince, their time to get the credit they have so desperately yearned for, and it is the Fan’s time to enjoy the ride. Even if just for a few weeks.

I believe the Raptors will be able to absorb whatever punishment VC, Kidd, and RJ will be able to muster. Chris Bosh and Andrea Bargnani will stretch the inside defenders, and the Nets "Bigs" will not be able to contain them. Anthony Parker will play stellar defense and knock down 3’s. The Raps depth is far superior to the Nets, and Jason Kidd will not be able to keep up with TJ Ford or Jose Calderon. Sam Mitchell will have his say about things as well.

And of course, the Raps fans will be Rabid.

This year’s playoffs at the Air Canada Center will be a marvel to see. The decibels in that arena will reach all-time highs with every fan in the arena booing Vince until their last breath. It will truly be one for the books.

Raps in 6… maybe 7, but expect to see Toronto in the Conference-Semis.

They got Karma on their side.
